The Best Laid Plans

I like to plan. I do it to pretend I have some control over my life. Planning is my way to say, “This will happen and I will do it.” So even when surprises throw monkey wrenches into them, plans are still important to me.
But plans can go awry. Like when I got ready to post my blog, but remembered about the service appointment for my car’s 30,000 mile check-up. Then between the laundry and a phone call (long) from a friend, well, you know.
So while there are as many ways to plan as there are people (and animals) to make plans, sometimes keeping appointments, staying in touch with friends and doing the laundry ... that reminds me... My local blueberry farm still has berries to pick. But first, what a surprise! The sun is out. I’m going for a walk.

What makes you spontaneous? Send a comment...I’d love to know.
                                                                   --stay curious!

This post makes me think of "the best laid plans...." I too like to plan, just not too far ahead, which is problematic sometimes. For traveling requires planning way ahead of time. Often spontaneity is very special, in that it can be refreshing to not plan a day or a weekend and just get up and go somewhere. That can be an awesome experience!

Yep, serendipity is usually good. I had a great conversation with my next door neighbor yesterday. I was on my home from that unplanned walk. Dinner was a little late!
